Andrew Erskine

Andrew Erskine’s practice focuses on the representation of financial institutions and investors in a broad range of transactional, compliance and regulatory matters. His experience includes secured and unsecured financings, mergers and acquisitions, purchases and sales of financial and other assets, loan restructuring, real property finance and capital formation. Mr. Erskine has represented a significant number of publicly listed and privately held companies in connection with corporate governance and securities matters. He has represented mortgage lenders in secondary marketing, servicing and asset securitization matters. Mr. Erskine also represents real estate investors in financing matters, including tax-exempt financings and tax credit transactions and loan restructures.
Prior to joining Zuber & Taillieu, Mr. Erskine held senior positions in the law departments of national financial institutions. He provided leadership and advice with respect to the integration of the business activities, processes, systems and corporate entities of the former Countrywide Financial Corporation and Merrill Lynch into Bank of America Corporation. In this capacity, he had substantial involvement in change management processes, including Six Sigma. He also served as lead banking regulatory counsel for a national, diversified financial holding company. In that capacity, he was responsible for banking regulatory relations and compliance, including the conversion of a $120 billion-asset bank to federal thrift status and the integration of mortgage origination activities of a national mortgage company into a bank subsidiary.
Earlier in his career, as a Partner in the Financial Services Department of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP, Mr. Erskine represented financial and non-financial entities in a broad range of transactional matters, including extensive experience in financial institutions mergers and acquisitions, real estate and personal property secured financing transactions and corporate governance matters.
An active member of the California State Bar Association, Mr. Erskine has served in various capacities in its different committees. He is a frequent speaker on financial institution and commercial law topics. Mr. Erskine holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ Service.
