Gerold W. Libby

Gerold Libby’s practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance transactions, corporate governance counseling, and cross-border joint ventures.  It also includes intellectual property transfers and real estate finance transactions.  Mr. Libby typically represents technology, manufacturing, entertainment and real estate clients.  A significant portion of his practice involves the representation of foreign clients, usually based in Asia, in their United States business and investment matters, and in advising United States and European clients doing business in Asia.

Mr. Libby formerly served on the board of directors of Semco Instruments, Inc., a California-based aerospace company which was sold in 2010, and led Zuber & Taillieu LLP’s representation of Semco and its shareholders in that transaction.  Mr. Libby also works with non-profit organizations, and is the General Counsel of The World Justice Corporation, a non-profit corporation based in Washington, D.C., which engages in projects around the world that promote the rule of law.

Prior to joining Zuber & Taillieu LLP, Mr. Libby was a partner at Holland & Knight LLP.  Early in his career he practiced for three years with one of the largest law firms in Japan, and for one year with a law firm in Korea.  Mr. Libby is a recognized leader of the international bar, having recently completed a term as President of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, and currently serving as chair of the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative Asia Council.
