As an authority in intellectual property, she specializes in copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, licensing, rights of publicity and privacy, and unfair competition cases. She possesses extensive experience and know-how trying complex international and domestic intellectual property and commercial cases, including multi-jurisdictional class actions, for some of the world’s best-known global corporations and brands in a wide range of industries and technologies, including worldwide consumer products, electronics, communications services, Internet services, publishing, media, entertainment, healthcare, medical devices, energy, and hotel and hospitality services. She regularly counsels clients on intellectual property matters, enforcement, compliance, business transactions, licensing, new media, advertising, branding, and strategic alliances.
In addition, Ms. Jensen has significant experience in media, entertainment, and related businesses worldwide. She has successfully represented numerous industry clients in their disputes, including major motion picture studios, motion picture and television production companies, network and cable television programming producers and distributors, legitimate theater companies, major and independent record labels, publishers, and prominent individuals, including musicians, writers, producers, and senior executives.
Ms. Jensen is a recognized leader in the national bar community in areas of intellectual property, litigation, and media and currently serves as a chair of an intellectual property committee of the ABA. She also frequently writes and is an accomplished speaker on topics of intellectual property, new media, and entertainment.
Prior to joining Zuber & Taillieu LLP, Ms. Jensen practiced at major international law firms, including in the Intellectual Property and Litigation Departments of the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins LLP.
Notable Recent Representations:
- Won $120 million judgment and permanent injunction, as lead trial counsel in international trademark infringement case for global electronics company;
- Obtained over $4 million in four precedent-setting final judgments, each in excess of $1 million, as lead trial counsel in trademark infringement litigation;
- Won $93 million final judgment for patent infringement for international technology company;
- Won $45 million final judgment for patent infringement for international technology company, based upon jury verdict, trebled damages, attorneys fees, and interest;
- Obtained extraordinary relief in patent and trademark litigations, including: contempt sanctions exceeding $6 million; incarceration of defendant for contempt; seizures at U.S. Customs and defendants’ businesses and homes; orders to freeze all of defendants’ assets and repatriate millions transferred overseas; orders to impound defendants’ entire inventory, valued at over $10 million; and orders to require accounts receivables to be turned over to client, passport surrender, audits and unannounced inspections in China and the U.S., depositions of foreign defendants in the U.S., and posting of a $2 million pre-judgment bond;
- Retrieved and enforced exclusive rights relating to copyrights concerning signature properties of global companies, media entities, and individuals, including N.Y. Times best-selling authors;
- Consistently won money judgments, injunctions, and enforcement orders for worldwide corporate clients in cases involving patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and business disputes;
- Obtained exceptional outcomes in high-stakes trials, class actions, and securities litigation;
- Represented major and emerging companies, artists, and executives in various disputes and transactions, including those related to motion picture, scripted and reality television, and media transactions, talent contracts, distribution, licensing, technology-related issues, new media, publishing, live events, and production; and
- Won numerous emergency motions, writs, and appeals, including before district courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
