Noted Financial Lawyer Andrew Erskine Joins Zuber & Taillieu as Partner
Zuber & Taillieu continues to expand its corporate and finance practices with the addition of Andrew Erskine, a seasoned financial attorney. His practice addresses lending, regulatory, securities and other transactional activities of financial institutions.
Mr. Erskine has built his career on the skillful representation of financial institutions and their affiliates in a broad range of transactional and regulatory matters. His transactional experience includes secured and unsecured financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, purchases and sales of financial and other assets, loan restructuring and corporate financing transactions. He has extensive experience in financial institutions’ regulatory matters, including counseling of financial institutions faced with heightened regulatory scrutiny.
Prior to Zuber & Taillieu, Mr. Erskine held senior positions in law departments of several national financial institutions, with a focus on transactional, regulatory and compliance matters. He provided leadership and advice in the integration of Countrywide Financial Corporation and Merrill Lynch into Bank of America Corporation. He has served as lead financial institutions regulatory counsel for a publicly-listed, diversified financial holding company, with, for example, responsibility for conversion of a $120 billion-asset bank to federal thrift status and the integration of mortgage origination activities into a federally-insured banking subsidiary.
Earlier, as a partner of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP, Mr. Erskine advised financial and non-financial entities on a broad range of corporate securities, regulatory and transactional matters. Mr. Erskine earned his J.D. degree at University of Southern California Law Center, and his undergraduate degree at University of Southern California. Mr. Erskine holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ Service.
